LEESBURG, Va., Oct. 6, 2022 – Rebellion Bourbon Bar & Kitchen’s Leesburg location recently received a 2022 Preservation Award, under the architectural detail category, by the Loudoun County Joint Architectural Review Board. The award is in recognition of Rebellion’s dedication to preserving the character of the Old and Historic District with the installation of windows on the Market Street façade and innovative mix of traditional and contemporary materials used to create the front signage.
“Our team is honored to receive this award, as our focus during renovations was to preserve as much of the historic interior as possible in the 232-year-old building,” said David Stallard, Vice President of Operations. “We are grateful to be part of downtown Leesburg and look forward to sharing this historic space with the community.”
The building at 1 N. King Street was used during the American Civil War as a market and trading station. Throughout the renovation process, Rebellion worked with Virginia craftsmen, carpenters and ironworkers to create a modern atmosphere that promotes the rich history of the building and contributes to the overall historic preservation of Leesburg.
