Rebellion partners with Catoctin Creek Distillery to create Private Barrel Select Rebellion Blend marking the first time Catoctin Creek Distillery has finished their 100% rye whisky in a tequila barrel.

FREDERICKSBURG, Virginia 08/18/2020 – Rebellion is pleased to announce that it has partnered with Catoctin Creek Distilling Company to create a private Barrel Select Rebellion blend that will be available at its Virginia locations.

“With us expanding our brand in Northern Virginia, we felt it was extremely important to have our next Single Barrel Select come from Northern Virginia. Catoctin Creek Distillery is a fantastic local brand who put a ton of effort and love into their products, so this was a great fit for us. What was so attractive about this particular selection, was knowing that this barrel had previously aged tequila. This made it an extremely unique selection to add to the Rebellion Barrel Select Family,” said Rebellion Founder Brian ‘Wes’ Westlye.

This selection is the first time Catoctin Creek Distilling Co. has finished their 100 percent rye whisky in a tequila barrel. Its aroma has the crisp, clean smell of a rye whisky – caramel and lemon rind – and tastes like an excellent Virginia rye – fruity with plum and cherry notes, lemon rind, white pepper, and leather. The finish has unmistakable minerality that is only ever present in agave spirits causing a finish similar to a mezcal – rich, complex and delicious.

Rebellion’s newest locations in Fredericksburg and Leesburg, Virginia are set to open in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 and are located at 309 William Street, Fredericksburg and 1 N. King Street, Leesburg.
