Rebellion Bourbon Bar and Kitchen is proud to announce the successful outcome of its June fundraiser, resulting in the installation of a new Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within the Fredericksburg community. This important effort was carried out in close collaboration with Gwyneth’s Gift Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the vital role of AEDs in saving lives.
Throughout the month of June, Rebellion guests enjoyed a limited-time dessert special, with all proceeds benefiting the Foundation. This is the third year that Rebellion has held the month-long fundraiser with Gwyneth’s Gift, which was founded by Joel and Jennifer Griffin in memory of their oldest daughter, Gwyneth. Rebellion, a restaurant that does not offer desserts, adds a dessert special to its menu each June to celebrate Gwyneth during her birthday month.
Joel Griffin, reflecting on the initiative, warmly shared, “Gwyneth had a fondness for anything sweet, so this year, we chose a Mixed Berry Cobbler for her. Jennifer and I are incredibly grateful to the team at Rebellion for supporting our cause year after year, and we’re equally thankful to our community in Fredericksburg for embracing the opportunity to enjoy this dessert. Simply purchasing a dessert allows the Foundation to purchase and place additional defibrillators, we are collectively saving lives in our community.”
Jeff Opper, General Manager of Rebellion, said, “We take immense pride in hosting this annual event in collaboration with Gwyneth’s Gift and the Griffin family. Being able to support both their family and our community through this initiative is deeply meaningful to all of us.”
This year’s AED was awarded to Saint Michaels of the Archangel Catholic High School in the Fredericksburg region. This is Gwyneth’s Gift 16th AED of 2023 and 118th since the program was launched.
The Griffins continue their shared mission through the Foundation, striving to create a Culture of Action. To learn more about the Foundation and how to support them, please visit www.gwynethsgift.org.
